Getting There

Today was all travel, but also my first chance to use my new camera. I am so happy to finally have a non-film camera that I could (and did) use it to take pictures of just about everything the airport and plane ride had to offer, which wasn't much.

Between obsessively checking to make sure I hadn't lost my passport, slicing my finger open on some seemingly non-existent object in my carry on, and taking pictures of planes taking off, I drank a grande iced coffee in Mexico city--which was probably a grande iced cup of Mexican tap water. I'm waiting to find out.

It was dark when I left the airport in Guatemala city and I didn't see much other than fast food places, people hanging on and attaching themselves to vehicles in very creative and dangerous ways, and a beat up white convertible with two sad snoopy mascots playing Christmas music on a boom box, but I didn't get a picture of any of those things.

Tomorrow there are no plans, which are the best kind.
